Squares from around the world

DSCN0875

They have different names and different histories. They vary in terms of size, scope and importance. However, around the world there exists a plaza or square or zocalo in just about every city. Here’s a smattering of some of the squares I’ve spent time in during my travels abroad.

St. Peter’s Square-Vatican City
Local plaza-Granada, Nicaragua
Piazza Navona- Rome, Italy
Plaza Mayor-Madrid, Spain
Place de la Concorde-Paris, France

Have you been to any of the ones I’ve featured? Do you have a particular favorite? If not, where is your favorite square located?
