I apologize for posting this belatedly, but this past Monday, January 23, was the Chinese New Year. It is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays and in China it is known as the Spring Festival. This year the presiding animal zodiac was the dragon and it is considered the luckiest year in the Chinese Zodiac. Here’s a link to an article from Budget Travel magazine that talks about how the Chinese New Year is actually a relatively inexpensive time to visit Hong Kong. China is definitely on my destination wishlist (D’s too as he would love to see the Great Wall one day) so maybe when we go we’ll go for the Chinese New Year.
