French cooking sans Julia

Last week I was sick so although I was feeling somewhat better by the weekend, I wasn’t up for hanging out with Julia and The French Chef Cookbook. So I brought out my other French cookbook, one where the recipes are quick and relatively simple. And voila, here was Sunday night’s dinner:

Eggs in red wine
Although I didn’t know what to expect from eggs that have been poached in red wine,
the taste was surprisingly  good.
Soupe de Crecy 
How can you go wrong with carrots, leeks, and a potato all pureed together? One word…delish!
