Friday Fun Facts-Mexico

For a slightly more informal post, I thought I would start a new feature entitled “Friday Fun Facts.” Every Friday I’ll share three interesting facts about a worldwide destination. I decided to start with Mexico, the first foreign country I ever visited and also one of my favorite places too.

-Mexico introduced chocolate, corn, and chiles to the world

-The red poinsettia originated in Mexico and is named after Joel Roberts Poinsett who was the first United States Ambassador to Mexico in the early 19th century

-The Chichen Itza Pyramid in the country’s Yucatan Peninsula was named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World
