A global themed wedding

When it came time for planning my wedding, I knew I wanted my love for travel and other cultures to be a part of my special day. I didn’t opt for one particular theme like many brides do (goth, Disney, winter wonderland-you get the picture); instead I went the global route.

My Spanish style veil (mantilla)-the lace was exquisite
The place cards that featured a stamp from my collection
The Spanish guitarist who performed during cocktail hour
(He mainly played Isaac Albeniz selections at my request)

To accompany the Spanish guitar playing, I worked with my reception site for the hor d’oeuvres to be Spanish themed too (spinach empandillas, chicken croquetas, tortilla espanola)
Our table markers  which were named after destinations D and I had traveled to (or were going to on our honeymoon)
In Spanish papel picado means “perforated paper” and is a decorative craft made out of paper that is cut
into elaborate designs
And my favorite of them, our cake topper which was a
Mexican bride and groom calavera

Thank you! I didn’t care too much about the whole dress selection, but the veil was a big to do for me 🙂
