To all my American readers, I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you are having a great time being amongst family and friends. To my non-American readers, Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday in which people gather today to give thanks, to be amongst loved ones, and to share in lots of good food and cheer. Its origins date back to the 17th century to a celebration held at the Plymouth Colony in modern day Massachusetts between the English colonists and Native Americans.
I especially give thanks to my loving family and being able to have the opportunity to travel and fulfill my dream of seeing new places as well as returning to old ones. I’ll be celebrating today with D’s family since they live close by (we’re going to my hometown of Philadelphia for Christmas).
Here is a link to a great travel related article from the New York Times which traces the origins of the Pilgrims (the English colonists who first celebrated Thanksgiving) in England and the Netherlands prior to coming to America.
I leave for Hawaii tomorrow and won’t be posting as regularly as I do but hopefully I’ll be able to post sneak pics here and there but be sure to check back in the coming weeks for lots of reviews and photos.
