I only spent an afternoon in Kilkenny but I found it to be a charming city, complete with lovely buildings and history that oozed from the ground (many of its buildings date from medieval times). Unlike in Dublin where the weather was often overcast, the skies that afternoon in Kilkenny were a bright, brilliant blue. I don’t remember all that I saw but I do remember coming across a beautiful handmade St. Brigid’s cross in one of the shops there. I didn’t purchase it thinking I would be able to find one in Dublin where I was staying. Naturally I didn’t find any such article and it’s a purchase I still regret not making almost four years later.
