Seattle’s Chihuly Garden and Glass

Seattle’s Chihuly Garden and Glass

It’s only recently that I first heard about the glass artist Dale Chihuly. People often describe Chihuly’s work as being the type of art that any non-art fan would find beautiful and derive enjoyment from.  While I AM an art fan, I still found Chihuly’s creations to be breathtaking because they were so different from my usual favorite taste in art (i.e paintings).

When I found out that there is a Chihuly exhibit space right next to Seattle’s Space Needle, it seemed that I’d finally have the chance to check out the works of this unique artist. The fact that you can buy a combo ticket for the Chihuly Garden and Glass when booking your Space Needle ticket made visiting all the more desirable. It’s the type of place where you can spend as little or as much time  as you want, one  where you’ll be captivated by the sheer size of the glass works and enthralled by their bright, beautiful colors.

This is a post where the pictures above all bring to life to the attraction.  So I’ll end here with my words and let the  beauty of these incredible creations wow you just as they did me when I visited.

Julie, These are beautiful works of art! Hard to choose a favorite, but I always tend to lean towards anything blue. Thanks for posting these for us to enjoy! 🙂

Thanks JoAnn! You would love it there, it’s just amazing to think these are the work of just one man. My favorite is probably the orange one hanging from the ceiling 🙂

[…] As I’ve mentioned before, the weather in Seattle during my trip there was less than stellar.  Only in my visit’s waning hours did the weather finally  cooperate. After dinner at Elliott’s Oyster House we went on the touristy but fun Great Wheel (Seattle’s Ferris wheel). I was able to take some beautiful photos of the setting sun on the city’s skyline but my favorite actually was from the water side where I captured a boat gliding slowly over the waters of the famous Puget Sound.
