Some Updates

-I’m sure you’ve already noticed but I still wanted to formally announce my blog’s slightly new makeover. The old look was two years and so it was time for a change. I love being able to showcase more photos I’ve taken during my travels. The problem though was having to choose which ones to use since I have so many favorites. Photographs in my opinion are the best souvenir of a trip.

-I also added a Facebook button for my blog’s page. In case the Facebook “F” button misses your attention you can access the page by clicking here. And I do want to add that I’ve gotten a lot more active as of late on my blog’s Facebook page, posting lots of neat and random travel and food photos so be sure to check it out.

-There hasn’t been any travel since February when I visited Washington D.C. for a long weekend and I’m itching to go somewhere. While I know the latter half of 2013 will most likely be fabulous in terms of travel, to go through such a dry spell in the meantime is tough! I had planned on going on a day trip tomorrow but I’ve been sick for the past week with not much relief in sight and so I think those plans are being nixed as well unfortunately.

But…

-There were finally some NEW travel plans made this week. In about a month’s time I’ll be headed to Holland…well Holland, Michigan (I would undoubtedly prefer the country in Europe but the Michigan version will “most likely” cost a lot less and is a tad bit easier to get to). However, it looks like a really unique place. Founded by Dutch immigrants (duh), the city is home to numerous Dutch restaurants and bakeries, shops with authentic Dutch wares (I’m hoping to come home with a pair of clogs and some Delft pottery, a windmill from the home country and of course these:

I just can’t seem to kick it, nor can my h πŸ™ It’s definitely putting a damper on things since I just want to be able to enjoy the finally nice weather.

My grandmother in her house had a miniature size Delft clog that written on the bottom said “Holland, MI.” She told me that my great-grandmother had visited once and just loved it. It looks like a terrific place by all accounts.

And while our visit won’t coincide with the tulip festival, I read that they’re actually blooming later this year so they should still look beautiful.

    I agree, a beautiful flower!
