Although there exists the “traveling gnome prank” (if you’re unfamiliar with what I’m talking about, you can click here for more information), I’ve always wanted to do something similar, just without the prank part.
On my 2011 Disney cruise, I bought a stuffed animal of Remy, the utterly adorable French mouse/culinary extraordinaire from the Pixar film Ratatouille. While I am hardly “stuffed animal obsessed” I couldn’t pass up purchasing him…that and he came attired in a kitchen apron and was holding a cooking spoon.
Last fall I thought about packing Remy in my suitcase for my trip to Hawaii. I thought it would be super cool to have this Parisian mouse pose on a Hawaiian beach as I snapped away a photo. Well, for whatever reason Remy wasn’t packed so my grand plan never came to fruition.
But for my Disney cruise that I went on last week, Remy WAS one of the first things I packed. While I thought long and hard about where to pose him for a picture on a cruise ship, I finally decided that a photo opportunity at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas would be best. And I have to say that it really turned out great. It also sparked conversations with other passengers who thought it was neat as well.
And so once I have two “Where’s Remy” shots I plan on creating a new page on the blog for just this. But a page with just one shot seems odd, don’t you think?
Remy says “bonjour” by the way!
