Holland, Michigan-a sneak peek

I had a lovely visit this past weekend in Holland, Michigan, the only Holland that you don’t need a passport for as the local tourist office likes to tout. While I was sad to miss the tulips (most were done blooming while some looked as if they would be making a visit to the tulip morgue very soon), I still got to see and so some other really cool things. Although the drive there from Pittsburgh was long (about six and a half hours), not to mention through some lackluster scenery (not to knock farms, but six and a half hours of flat farmland gets a tad bit boring after the first 30 minutes), the friendliness of the Holland residents more than made up for it. The people were incredibly nice and pleasant, especially the behavior of drivers towards pedestrians (so not the case in any East Coast city). An added plus was being able to visit another state! I have many neat posts and pictures coming your way but for now a sneak peak of what’s in store.

I look forward to your posts about and photos of Holland, Michigan! You always do such a great job framing your photos. The composition of the middle photo is especially nice. 🙂

It was a really cute place! The only bummer is that we missed the tulip festival although I’m sure it would have been a lot more mobbed and some things more expensive too! I would definitely recommend visiting if you ever have the chance, and being in Cleveland it’s not as far of a drive as Pittsburgh 🙂
